This hotel was one of our favourite stops on our Route 66 trip. We loved the themed room, which was very clean, nicely decorated, and well appointed. The lobby was impressive, with lots of memorabilia to look at, and we spent some time sitting by the huge fireplace, enjoying the ambience. We had drinks at the onsite bar. There is also a restaurant, which we did not eat at, and a gift shop. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return.

    I can’t say a whole lot because I don’t know the area. We were just passing by and needed to stay at a hotel.. one thing I would NOT recommend is Travelodge hotel. That hotel is rundown ghetto looking. Looks like nobody slept there. They might have bedbugs. ETC.

    This is an older hotel but it has a lot of character and...

    This is an older hotel but it has a lot of character and nostalgic charm that we enjoyed. Rooms were clean and the bed was good. Our room windows faced Route 66 so it was rather noisy with traffic all night and the air conditioner was rather loud as well. The bathroom had a great shower but the room was so tiny there was no where to put your toiletries. We ate in the restaurant for supper and the burgers and fries were good but nothing remarkable. If you feel newer hotels are lacking in character and charm, stay here. It was a fun stay.

    Right off a busy interstate, it is a quaint little place. I like that it has that rustic look and the feel of an old west era, to a degree. Also like the fact that I get to utilize a part of highway history, Route 66.

    Gallup is a wide spot in I 40 surrounded by nothing. 20 miles further west is Arizona with even less to see or do. To me it is just a stop over to get some sleep. We arrived and checked in at 11:00 PM.

    Galllup for me is just a resting stop.

    Galllup for me is just a resting stop. The people are nice but there's really nothing to draw me to come back. We ate at Denny's because it was so close and we were tired and didn't want to drive very far. It seems easy to get around the main area of Gallup. We have been to Gallup in the past and the best part was the Inner-tribal summer celebration and rodeo. Red Rock park is very nice.

    I'm from New Mexico so I know many places there.

    I'm from New Mexico so I know many places there. It already has a wonderful history and the Native Americans are incredible peoples. I would recommend to anyone to take the time, not only get to know Gallup, but to learn about the history of New Mexico in general.

    I arrived very late, and it was extremely cold outside. The hotel’s main entrance was locked. I called the front desk, and although the receptionist was right there, she refused to come and open the door for us. Instead, she just gave unclear instructions over the phone, telling us to force the door open. Moreover, she did not accept my passport as identification, which is something I have never encountered before. Overall, her attitude was terrible—she seemed completely unwilling to talk to us.

    Breakfast was very good and the attendant "Teresa" was the star of the whole stay! She was very friendly and focused on cleaning the area and making people comfortable. The food was good, simple but good. She even spoke on some of the history of Gallup, an asset, she is!

    We ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel next door. The Frontage road in front of the hotel was lined with Homeless old RV's all parked in a No parking zone. the city is obviously not enforcing the parking laws.
