Located next to Walt Disney World, the city of Kissimmee was founded in the mid-19th century. It is located on the shores of Lake Tohopekaliga, and is the seat of Osceola County, Florida. Kissimmee offers not only a range of hotels near Disney World, but includes a charming historic downtown and activities in contact with nature.
The small town benefited economically during the last years of the 19th century thanks to a drainage operation in the territory of southern Florida that used the area near the city as a base.
