The King Suite, an upgrade, was VERY clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The downside, my hubby was excited about having hashbrowns. Potato chunks were served instead. He had to "settle" for a great doughnut.

We were there less than 24 hours. In that time I was impressed and delighted with several places.... Our Hotel=Home2Suites Downtown Louisville NuLu (Lovely hotel, and the next 2 places are walkable, and the Palace is a short Uber away) The Last Refuge...don't miss this amazing bar/restaurant! (and Heaven's Door) I won't give away the details. Just go. The Pasta Garage (Cute place with yummy Italian food) Louisville Palace (Absolutely awesome)

Easy to drive to all areas of interest - including downtown

Easy to drive to all areas of interest - including downtown Very friendly staff in all restaurants and visitor sites. Louisville Slugger and Churchill Downs had terrific tours. The Tavern , Captain's Quarters and Harry's all had excellent food and service.

I lived in Louisville 40 years ago as a newlywed; my children were born there. But boy, has it changed! Downtown unrecognizable. Diversity! Food! Beautiful (well, not so much in the winter). A lot of stuff for kids to do, adults, too. You won't be bored. The only thing that was bothersome is the homeless/mentally challenged people on the streets, especially visible downtown.

There are so many choices of restaurants within walking...

There are so many choices of restaurants within walking distance and they are all good but our favorite was the Old Spaghetti Factory. For dessert, I recommend the Fudgery right on 4th Street Live. Downtown is pretty sketchy at night so be aware of your surroundings.

We were only there two half days.

We were only there two half days. We started in Baltimore where we live, and drove to Lexington, VA, stayed over, and then rushed to get to Louisville for the Ali Center which closes at 5. The next day we went to the Louisville Slugger factory in the morning, I walked into the Frazier Museum and it looked good, but I had no time to go thru it. It once upon a time was my name so I was curious!! I drove around the lovely old homes, had lunch, and left for the drive to Milwaukee.

My "HAT GOES OFF" to the city. The city was clean and well groomed, It felt very safe any time of day to walk in. I could find nothing wrong with the city. It is something to be proud of.

Possibly the most unique place you will ever stay in and have the best stories to tell your friends about. Decor is extremely inkeeping with the Tiki theme and great that it's a completely self-contained property with free off road parking too. Toilet/sink/bath/shower is spotlessly clean. Great location close to the centre of Louisville with super helpful and friendly owner. Take this as a fun place to stay.

The hotel was perfect for us. It was good value for money. It was dated but everything was clean. Bit out of town but only took 5 mins into centre of Louisville. We took a tour around on a trolley bus which is worth doing.
