Macomb being my hometown, I attended my 50th high school class celebration. All the festivities for heritage days were well organized. Food was good, we baked on our ‘75 float.in the super HOT 🥵 temps. Next time I will wear a hat and bring along a wet rag who removed the sweat pouring down my face and back 😎

We were in Macomb for a family event.
We were in Macomb for a family event. It isn't a destination I would choose for any other reason. It was interesting to see life in small town -rural America. We found it easy to get around & we enjoyed the beauty of the farmland & surrounding countryside.

I grew up in Macomb and had to move away at 14! I go back every year for Heritage Days (oh, I am 59 now) at the very least. Macomb is a whole feeling for me. WIU, the eateries, a walk-up to the window Dairy Queen which is so cute! I visited the Lavender Farm, Argyle, Spring Lake and all the little spots that bring back great memories. It's just a charming little town. And the people! Just wow, so polite and welcoming!

Okay so Macomb is a small town and the main large hotel with all the frills is waaaay too expensive. The Best Western had bed bugs and accused me of bringing them to get a free room. Quality Inn was okay. Once I started stay at the SUper 8, I have not stayed at another hotel. It is definately not a 4 star hotel, but it is VERY clean, the pillows are amazing, the breakfast is good and the family who owns the hotel are ALWAYS amazing. The location is good because you are right next to the diner with the good breakfast and lunch.
