Plenty of parking, great location to amenities and points of interest. Clean room, comfortable. Could walk to restaurant, pharmacy next door. Close to points of interest. Just up the road from Vermont's Largest Candy Store. Within 30min or less to Lake Champlain Bridge, Chimney Point / History Site - Fort etc... Pretty easy to navigate Middlebury. Great motorcycle riding all over for those who ride.

A charming, walkable downtown with lots of greenspace and places to sit and enjoy the ambiance. Quiet for a college town. I visited in April, so it is likely much more active in the summer with the Language Schools and Breadloaf Writer's workshops. Lovely period architecture and elegant residential structures. Otter Creek and the waterfalls are pleasant features, as is the old Marble factory area. If you like organic foods, there are several options. My favorite was the Middlebury Natural Foods Coop on Washington St. Great place for groceries and for "grab & good" healthy foods. The Sheldon Museum showcasing Vermont history was closed for the season, but it is nicely located downtown within walking distance of shops and restaurants. There's limited shopping but several nice art galleries and taverns.

Horrible room. So tiny and dingy.
Horrible room. So tiny and dingy. I booked a deluxe room, nothing about it was deluxe. Make sure you see the actual picture of the room before booking. Beware of room 124. Stayed at this hotel 20 years ago and we had fond memories of it. Boy have things changed, the manager needs to get a better grip on his hotel. They advertise and recommend their dining room . On the Friday we arrived and the next Sat, it was closed for a wedding. On the third night it was closed no explanation.. the service for breakfast was dismally slow and the food was good but not always hot. Do not book with booking.com as they did not reply with a solution to my room problem.

Not the idyllic Vermont Inn.
Not the idyllic Vermont Inn. Right on the highway - there was no quiet porch sitting! No usable elevator, no microwave in room. Noisy AC units in lobby prevented relaxing there. Dinner dining room closed 3 days of the week.
One good thing - it is in middle of Middlebury for walking ease. That's it.

I had never been to this part of the country, and was very impressed. I only went so I could help my daughter move in to the college there for the summer. I am so glad I accompanied her! I can not wait to visit again and stay longer if possible. I loved the Inn we stayed at, and the people were great everywhere we went. What a clean town! I could not find a piece of trash anywhere. No stray animals in sight, just immaculate. I thought I was on a movie set!
Adorable, darling, tiny town. Kinda wish I lived here!

Great independent bookstore and stationery store.
Great independent bookstore and stationery store. Very walkable, interesting churches (architecture and insides). Center is undergoing some construction to make it better. Lovely New England small town w beautiful vistas out of and around town.

The location was fine and the hotel is attractive. We had a room on the first floor of the annex so it was quite convenient, but our cousin was in the main hotel and on the 2nd floor. There is not public elevator and if you need to use the elevator you need to wait for a staff member to take you in it. The lounge and dining room look lovely, and there is an outdoor space for dining weather-permitting. There is a small bar in the dining room as well.

Beautiful traditional Inn with original decor. Felt like traveling back in time. The rooms are furnished in old style, but not dated. Beds were very comfy and bathroom modernized, even had an infrared heating system. Very central location in Middlebury. Good value for money compared to other places we stayed at.

Me & my family stay here when we went to take our daughter to Middlebury College freshman move in! It was awesome! Marty, Carol & their dog Merlin were amazing! We are going to stay there again next time we visit!

This is a classic Vermont retreat. Very nice hosts and a very classy ambiance. We had a wonderful memory of the place and when we return to the Middlebury area, we will certainly book this hotel again.

Hotel is easy to get to by road, and has many local shops and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was good, and staff met were courteous and friendly.
