Best part was the staff. Every single one of them was very helpful and friendly. Made you feel at home. Both at the check in desk and also the cleaners were super nice. The hotel is what you would expect for a Travelodge, but on a nicer scale. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Location was perfect for my trip, right in Marin. Eventhough we were right next to the freeway, I could not hear the cars from my room. Overall it was a perfect stay, thanks to the proffessional staff.

I grew up in Mill Valley and absolutely love opportunities to visit. Proximity to wonderful trails, lovely views, redwood trees, interesting neighborhoods; pretty waterfall; nice theater and music hall offering quality entertainment and a movie theater; good food choices (both from cafes/restaurants and upscale grocery stores) and very close to other interesting towns and San Francisco. Public transportation around area is limited but getting to/from San Francisco via public transportation is easy and have done it often.

I don't love all the snobs who migrated from the East Coast and now think they are better than anyone because they are able to afford living in California, but, those people aside, everything else is lovely and wonderful

There was absolutely NO breakfast.

There was absolutely NO breakfast. No cereal, no pastries, muffins or toast, no coffee bar, no juice bar, and no newspaper.... We had one washcloth to share. However, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we appreciated that. We waited about 15 minutes in an empty lobby to check in, and the clerk barely uttered a word after keeping us waiting. We were in town for a funeral, so one night was tolerable.

Calm city. Safe city.

Calm city. Safe city. Lots of options to eat and to do groceries. We went there to visit San Francisco. We've chosen Mill Valley and Sausalito to park our car and take public transportation to San Francisco. Best decision ever. Car remained intact. No one crashed our window and we were happy.

The unit is great for a couple, but not for more than two...

The unit is great for a couple, but not for more than two assuming the two sleep in the same bed. Otherwise a very nice place. The driveway up to the unit is very steep and could be a challenge for some people. We went there to visit our daughter who has a small apartment and a new baby, but the area is a great place to visit in general. Mill Valley can be navigated, but road network is tricky and sometimes difficult--be sure you have a GPS with guidance if you don't know the area!

See my review. Property is dangerous unless approached in the daytime as there was zero lighting illuminating the door to the unit or the side yard. Pitch black. Floor drops 3-4" as you step from door sil into unit. What if Mom or Grandma went in first. They would have lawsuit to deal with broken foot, leg or worse. NO RESPOSE UNTIL TRIED THIRD PHONE NUMBER. NICE, NICE REP WHO "GOT IT". GROSS UNIT AND GROSS FILTHY OLD BEATER CAR IN DRIVEWAY OR SUPER HIGH END NEIGHBORHOOD. CREEPY! MY PLANNED TRIP WAS RUINED AS IT WAS TOO GROSS TO STAY IN THE ICKY, STINKEY UNIT. I WAS HIGHLY INCONVENIENCED AND WILL NEVER USE BOOKING.COM AGAIN. VERY SAD SITUATION WITH THAT UNIT. MAYBE LITTLE KIDS WOULD HAVE FUN BUT AN ADULT WHO HAS STAYED IN NICE HOTELS IN THE WORLD WOULD BE THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED WITH IT. AGAIN, BOOK A HOTEL AND DRIVE UP THERE TO ENJOY THE VIEW OR HIKE AREA.

Absolutely loved this hotel and Mill Valley!! You get a fabulous breakfast and wine/cheese evening reception every day included as part of your stay at the Mill Valley Inn. Rooms are great and staff are really friendly. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Mill Valley itself is fantastic. We enjoyed 4 days of mountain biking and hiking across wonderful vistas and intriguing landscapes. I can’t recommend this hotel and location enough!!
