Monticello seems to be a hub of activity, with a cute and pleasant center of town with decent walkability, as well as a variety of shops, stores, facilities, and restaurants all within the town, no more than a couple of miles in any direction for most things. It's actually the biggest town, of those I've seen, between St. Cloud to the northwest and the outer rings of Minneapolis to the southeast. People in the smaller towns might travel 15-20 miles to get to Monticello, for some of the larger shops and chains that aren't in, say, Becker or Big Lake. (Which are cute towns, and Becker in particular has a lot of smaller businesses, including several good gas stations, if you're heading northwest from Monticello on the slightly more scenic County Roads.)

Amazing staff. Very clean facility.

Amazing staff. Very clean facility. Quiet and secure accommodations. Exceptional value price point. Very adequate breakfast, with other options across the parking lot. Again, unless you need a pool this is an exceptional value. I would be comfortable paying double the price we payed

My review was not a “scam” just a customer who couldn’t believe the filth in the room-almost like they made no attempt to clean it. I don’t consider a room with hairs on the bathroom floor or mattresses stained with human juices clean. I understand it’s not a 5 star hotel but you could at least clean the room & not have 40 year old stained beds. Disgusting. It took us 5 shots of alcohol just to get comfortable with sitting down. Bed skirts on the bed dragging on the filthy carpet didn’t help either. Wonder what I would have seen had I brought my black light

Breakfast really isn't there... there is food. Lowest options of anywhere I have ever stayed. I never expect much from a breakfast included hotel but there is a lot of room for improvement of there "breakfest". The staff has been very friendly and helpful!!

The hotel is old and dated but kept up well. The room was clean and I slept well. There is a Perkins restaurant next door.
