Absolutely fantastic stay. This was a last minute lucky pick and I have never had a better accommodation in NYC. Everything was perfect, this is an absolute gem! The bathroom was surprisingly large for anything NYC and the shower extremely comfortable. Upon booking, my request for a high floor was accommodated without question (usually "there are no rooms available on the higher floors"). The staff was super kind! We had a couple extra requests (a kettle and an extra duvet) and the staff were kind, not uppity, and quick in responding to our needs. I will definitely come back here!

This place really hits different. I chose it because it’s part of Design Hotels, and I was genuinely amazed from the moment I arrived. The room was beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and clean, and the bathroom was something special. I was given a high floor, and the view was spectacular. You can tell the entire hotel was designed by real professionals — the attention to detail is impressive. I felt comfortable and welcomed throughout my stay. The staff were professional yet warm, which made everything even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

What Guests Said About New York:

We intended to stay within Manhattan for the entire duration...

We intended to stay within Manhattan for the entire duration of our trip, so 3 nights/4 days was exactly enough. The subway system is pretty easy to navigate and it's cheap to use. Not exactly the cleanliest facilities, but the value for money makes them the best mode of transportation available. There are plenty of activities and sightseeing to do. My advice would be: 1) Book your tour tickets early, especially if you're going during the holiday season. We weren't able to visit the SUMMIT because it was already fully booked several days in advance. 2) For food, you can't go wrong with the various grab-and-go places and kiosks scattered all around the city. Here's an important tip: be prepared to stand in long queues for almost every top attraction. For example: I had Joe's Pizza on my to-do list, because I heard so much about it. The slices were tasty and I enjoyed my experience there, but the catch is that I had to wait around 30 minutes in line and pay around 1.5-2x more than what I could have paid in similar restaurants that are less popular but perhaps just as delicious. 3) Not every main attraction tour is worth it. I get it, FOMO is a real thing and nobody wants to go to a touristic place like NYC and not try to clear as many things off of the checklist as possible. With that said, you really don't need to go to the rooftop of every main attraction, unless that's really your thing. The Manhattan skyline is beautiful from any one of those places. One example which I immediately noticed is "The Beam" which is an extra perk that you pay for at the Top of the Rock rooftop at Rockefeller Center. This was the first genuine "tourist trap" that I saw during my stay there. Just go up an additional floor, which any admission ticket holder can do, and you'll have a great view of the entire city.

The street is full of the smell of weeds.

The street is full of the smell of weeds. In the subway, we can always expect to see some homeless people, but when we got out of the subway, we can see all the fancy buildings. People are busy, and the price goes high everywhere. We didn't see many kids, and my wife said New York is a city for adults. It's a live picture of capitalism.

I love NYC and have enjoyed visiting since I was a young child. The city is not for everyone, but if you enjoy experiencing different cultures, cuisines and the arts, this is the place for you. We liked the Edison Hotel in the theatre district. It was perfect for us to get to the show within walking distance. We ate at the hotel - Bond 45 and Friedman's were delicious.

Spent time in manhattan.

Spent time in manhattan. Traveling and sight seeing were very easy using GPT and subway to get around. (I highly recommend using AI for quick travel tips) Spent 2 full days and ended up at 62k steps. If you ever get a chance and are a coffee lover, you MUST try Dons Cafe, located near Central Park. It was THEE BEST coffee I’ve ever had.

We stayed 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the New York Thanksgiving & Christmas buzz. Subway excellent for getting around. The Macy's parade was brilliant - we managed to get ring side positions. Weather was good - a bit cold but blue skies. Central park lovely with Autumn colours. Free trip to Staten Island on the ferry - good view of the Statue of Liberty enroute. Visited the 9/11 memorial and the Oculus centre. Rained one day so the Natural History Museun beckoned. Fantastic museum -0 barely scratched the surface!!!

I had a wonderful trip to NYC!

I had a wonderful trip to NYC! I walked all around Times Square. We saw all of the stores in their Christmas beauty! Macy's didn't disappoint. It's always so much fun to shop there and enjoy the holiday! We ate at the Brooklyn Delicatessen! It was delicious! We had a coffee and treats at the Starbucks in Macy's. I shopped at Clarks. The staff there are wonderful! I shopped at Target and TJMAXX too.

Great location in Chelsea, New York - just off 7th avenue which leads directly to Times Square (20 minute walk) and Central Park (40 minute walk). Several subway stops (23rd Street - various entrances) within 5 minute walk with links all over the city. Luggage can be left before checking in or after checking out. Hotel isn't cheap, but seemed to be about the most reasonable we came across when looking at places to stay in Manhattan. Rooms are good sized and have very comfortable beds.

The Lombardy was perfect for our stay in Midtown Manhattan; spacious rooms for New York, a great little kitchenette, a nice balcony with a table and chairs to have your morning coffee and watch the city wake up. It’s two blocks from Central Park and a short walk to the subway. No surprise charges which I can’t say for all NY hotels. Staff were very nice; we will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very quiet, cozy and pleasant environment, friendly people, cozy rooms, warmth and moderate comfort. In addition to everything, a comfortable and good bed, a closet for luggage and clothes. The room is small, but it does not create discomfort. At this price, there is no better place in midtown Manhattan. We spent eight happy days in New York and the hotel environment made the trip more enjoyable.

The hotel has a perfect location at the very heart of midtown Manhattan, ideally close to Grand Central and Times Square. Professional staff, nice lounge, if small.
