• The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom and elegant modern design throughout the building. • The staff were impeccably trained and professional — a real highlight of our stay. • I greatly appreciated the early check-in, which I had requested in advance and was honored without any issue. • There was also a thoughtful surprise in the room for my wife and daughter, which I had asked for — again, a big plus that my request was fulfilled. • We didn’t bring our own toothbrushes, and the hotel promptly provided them upon request. • Speaking of amenities: the quality of toiletries, toothbrushes, and other room supplies was exceptional — easily the best I’ve encountered in any U.S. hotel.

Fantastic hotel! Great central location. Nice, spacious, comfortable and clean rooms with designer touches. I loved my stay here. I loved the free bike rentals and the evening cocktail hours too. What can I say, I do not think that there are enough words! Arrived at noon and asked to leave my bags so I could just walk around the lake and get some air. A combination of snow and feeling unsafe in the city meant I had nothing to really do before I flew the following day. The guys on reception not only checked me in early, but upgraded me to a king sized bed for free! The room was exactly what I wanted, it was homely and comfortable with all the amenities, and WARM. This was something a high end competition in the city failed miserably on. The staff were all friendly, I booked my air port bus ride, it felt very safe for a solo traveller and the food and drink at the restaurant was amazing. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough with the care that they give to travellers.

Portland can be a lot of fun, but the homeless problem is...

Portland can be a lot of fun, but the homeless problem is out of control. It's not a "war zone" at the current administration would have you believe. There are peaceful protests by people in funny costumes but nothing dangerous. As long as you stay in the right areas it's a blast. Beautiful parks, shopping, and especially dining.

We live in Oregon and have enjoyed Portland many years as a place to dine and shop and safely walk the streets downtown at night. That changed for a while after the riots over Trump's first term as president. Portland is returning to what it was before as new businesses move in to the city.

If you like seeing homeless camps along the freeways and wherever, Portland would be the place to be. It is dirty, littered everywhere, and homeless garbage strewn in places too difficult or unsafe to keep clean. Portland used to be pristine. Now it's known for its homelessness, needles, and garbage everywhere. Sad to see it looking so run-down. Town doesn't seem to care!

The homeless population is plentiful, but they stick to themselves. We never felt unsafe or bothered by anyone. All the people we met were friendly and very welcoming. The Pearl District is easily walkable with several necessity type places within a few blocks - Safeway groceries, wine and liquor stores, cannabis if that's your vibe. Also a few boutiques shoppes and spas were close by as well. Allora (homemade pasta) was some of the very best Italian our group had ever had!! We took the hour and a half trek across to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock and poke a toe in the Pacific (you're so close, how can you not?)! The little beach town didn't disappoint!! I had some of the very best "fresh caught cod " fish and chips I've ever had!! That was at Ecola Seafood Restaurant just off the main drag. Multnomah Falls tour was absolutely a winner - beautiful falls - even in the misty weather!! Some had short hikes to get to them but so worth it if able.

Portland is such a fun, buzzing city with great energy and character. I went to see a show at the Crystal Ballroom and had an amazing meal at McMenamins - both were fantastic experiences. I could easily have stayed longer; there’s so much more to explore!

This hotel is located in a quaint part of town.

This hotel is located in a quaint part of town. I felt safe walking about and I saw no need for law enforcement to be roaming the streets. Portland has so much to offer; shopping, good food and amazing entertainment. The hotel offers bikes available to take a nice bike ride, as well.
