Richmond, Indiana, is a small city in farm country on the Ohio border. It is a nice place with friendly people. I went there to see the 2024 total eclipse of the sun but learned along the way that there are at least four places of interest in town and nearby that seemed worth visiting. Because of bad weather after the eclipse, I visited only the first of the four, the arboretum, for which there was no charge to enter. 1. The arboretum (in town, about two miles from the motel) 2. The Model T car museum (in town) 3. A site where Ordovician fossils are said to be common and can be collected (nearby) 4. This was a hidden gem!
This was a hidden gem! I wish all the Comfort Inns were like this. The hotel smelled clean, looked stylish and was a great value for what you got. The rooms were spacious, clean, quiet and COMFORTABLE! I actually slept well that night. The breakfast was delicious. I would absolutely stay here again.Guest review byKirstenUnited States - 8.0

We stayed at this hotel six months ago and the pool was not in working order then. I expressed my frustration to the front desk. A young man I assume was a manager went out of his way to accommodate me. I really appreciated that he allowed me to use a jacuzzi. We had a 1 night stay at a different chain hotel and quickly realized Hampton Inn's are far better for the same price.
