This is a great small California town.
This is a great small California town. The downtown is fun and the food is innovative and tasty with reasonable pricing. Flying Dog Wood Fired Pizza is some of the best pizza I've ever had and beverages were great also. Peter's Sushi and Chinese is a great meal that rivals the city. Lots of great walks and history and close the the Redwoods. There is also a funky drive-in that is now more of a walk in for burgers and ice cream. Great vibes and food. I stopped because I needed a couple of days with reliable Internet and ended up having lots of fun and meeting new people. Nice little town. Main attraction is the Skunk train. But there are plenty more to do, as close by to State forest. Also there are many food options. We ate twice in Lumberjack's (breakfast was part of the hotel deal) and once in Flying Dog Wood Fired Pizza & Vinyl (dinner pizza). We went there specifically so we could take our grand-children on the Skunk Train. It was fun but expensive $75.00 each for a 2 hour ( round trip ride) But it was fun for all of us. Got a luttle hot. Fun little town and a good place to stay overnight on the way to the Avenue of the Giants - Redwoods are absolutely amazing and a must see on your “bucket list!” The Lumberjack Restaurant across the street from the Best Western hotel made it easy to get a good meal.
