A wonderful place in a beautiful and quiet setting. Great hosts! Sooo comfortable beds - and the kids certainly made the most of the pool as well as the pool table. Very relaxing! Breakfasts as well as dinner was very nice.

Our previous visit was too short and we promised ourselves to come back again. Our stay this time was just as wonderful. Somkhanda is such a beautiful and unique game reserve and compared to many other lodges and private game reserves it is still good value. If you don't expect unnecessary luxury (our opinion) then you will love it here. We highly recommend taking the game drive whether you have a 4x4 or not as our guide Riaan is so knowledgeable and you will get to see a lot more of this gem of a game reserve. The staff are also so friendly and helpful and if you are not self catering there is a little restaurant offering a limited but tasty selection of dishes. We hope to be back again.

The airconditioning was very necessary with 38 degrees, but it worked like a charm if you keep the tent closed. Wonderful shower and sitting on the porch watching the sunset is something you won't soon forget.

The sound of nature, the silence, the birds, crickets and the frogs. The place is magical 💫 it has a special energy, for us, even spiritual. It was so perfect, me and my lady got engaged. The staff was absolutely amazing, everyone individually was so kind 🙏 The food was tasty as well. The landscape is beautiful. Having an external shower is a awesome.
