FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Cape town is always a great and exciting place to visit with a lot of activities to do, especially on your birthday cause they are free. The weather is great most of the times and windy on some days. Various beaches to go to and lots of tourist attractions. Most of the places are walking distances from each other, but if its not you have uber or bolt to use(which can be costly and needs a budget of its own😁).

## A Gem in Milnerton!

## A Gem in Milnerton! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gardenia Guesthouse, and I couldn't help but leave a glowing review! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and looked after by the incredibly friendly staff. The guesthouse itself is a beautiful, tranquil oasis, perfectly located in the heart of Milnerton. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable, making it the perfect base for exploring Cape Town. But it's the people that truly make Gardenia Guesthouse shine – the team is warm, hospitable, and always willing to go the extra mile. Their attention to detail and dedication to providing exceptional service is evident in every aspect of your stay. Whether you're visiting Cape Town for business or leisure, I highly recommend Gardenia Guesthouse. You'll feel right at home, and you'll be treated like family. 5 stars!

I love everything about Cape Town and it's a good place to spend time together with your family and friends and you don't feel lonely even if you go solo. Friendly advice, make sure you know your budget and stick to it otherwise you will go back broke because of nice things. Pity I didn't get to cable in table mountain because of wind.

I recently spent time in Cape Town, and wow… what a place!

I recently spent time in Cape Town, and wow… what a place! I stayed in Green Point, and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better spot. Everything was within walking distance from the V&A Waterfront to the Sea Point Promenade so every day felt like a new adventure waiting right outside my door. Since I’ve got serious sun FOMO, I was out from sunrise to sunset, exploring every hidden corner the city had to offer. Morning hikes up Lion’s Head, wandering through Green Point Park, discovering tucked-away coffee shops, and stumbling onto little gems around the city Cape Town kept surprising me in the best way. One of the highlights was the hop-on hop-off bus. It’s such an easy way to explore the city’s iconic spots, and the views along the coastal routes are unreal. Mountains, ocean, city life Cape Town has it all wrapped into one beautiful package. From the vibrant energy of the Waterfront to the peaceful sunrises over the Atlantic, the Mother City truly lives up to her reputation. Cape Town isn’t just a destination it’s an experience… and I already can’t wait to go back.

The scenery outside of Cape Town is stunning, the city itself is no longer what it used to be and we got stung by taxis. Always use Uber, Bolt or InDrive for reliable, affordable transport and pay in cash

Gale-force winds and the extreme heat threw a spanner in the works. But there’s always something to do and see in Cape Town. I really enjoyed the Oranjezicht Market, the promenade, and a bit of shopping.

The apart-hotel is in a great location and is in close proximity to many attractions within Cape Town (e.g. the V&A Waterfront, the Table Mountain Cable car, Camps Bay, etc.) We had 3 apartments in total, all with somewhat different styling, which we liked. The rooms are furnished quite nicely, and the beds were comfortable. The facial recognition for building access was very cool and worked very well. The pool is lovely, with braai stands also on the rooftop, finishing up with some spectacular views.

Literally everything beat my expectations because it was in the middle of the CBD so it was close to everything. The apartment says "Self Catering" so people shouldn't expect hotel service, clean after yourself and everything else for the duration of your stay. The apartment was clean, beds had clean linen and towels. And the rest was a jol. The host Wim was the best to communicate with and the security at the building was very helpful. Definitely coming back to room 403

Beautiful hotel with lovely, welcoming staff, amazing views and great facilities. Perfectly situated for visiting Cape Town with V&A Waterfront just round the corner. Breakfast and swimming whilst watching the dolphins was just amazing. Perfect way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary.Thank you David Manfred and all those who made our stay so special. And thank you Zim for your taxiing. A great holiday.

Great location for Waterfront - easy 10min walk. Decent value vs other hotels etc in same/similar location. Really secure. More than ample space for family 2 adults, 2 kids. 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms plus all the stuff you'd expect from a furnished apartment. Check in & check out super efficient! Great base to explore Cape Town from.

Breakfast was good! Family room was nice and spacious, friendly staff, hotel was clean and nice location at the middle of CBD. Had travelled out of the Cape Town for few days (Garden Route); the hotel let my luggage stay in their store room with no extra charge. Easy access to Taxi, Uber etc.
