We spent a night at the farm and had a very restful time. Beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Lovely accomodation with everything you need on hand. The host was very helpful and I would highly recommend a stay over here.

The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay.
The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay. There is a large back patio with built-in braai, protected from the water and a front stoep to soak in the beautiful views. The bathrooms are really spacious with large walk in showers. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is no TV but fast wifi so streaming from your phone is easy.

It is a very quaint and tranquil little town bout 30 km from Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. There is an ample amount of restaurants and wine shops and a few souvenir shops. Spending a full day to experience the real charm of the little village. While there take a short drive into Meiringspoort and discover CJ Langenhovens carved stone with the inscription Herry, which was the name of his imaginary elephant or travel up to the waterfall, all a mere 10 or 12 kim from De Rust.

De Rust is a beautiful, picturesque town and good for your mental health to get away and re-charge.
The eatery/shop in De Rust, called Pluim/ Frieda Schoeman is highly recommended. Well worth a visit

De Rust is a small rustic town ideal for an overnight stop enroute somewhere else. Everything is within walking distance. The town is spotlessly clean, people are very friendly and helpful. It is surrounded by magnificent mountains and very close to the must see Meirings Poort. Lovely coffee shops for breakfast and lunch with one restaurant open for dinner.

A small town surrounded by the great outdoors.
A small town surrounded by the great outdoors. Close to Meiringspoort and the waterfall. A great stopover for coffee or a meal or to get well basic necessities if you stay in the area. The Domein Doornkraal padstal is an absolute must on the way to Oudtshoorn. Stay at Aardts cabin if you staying over in the area.

Everything was perfect.
The place was beautiful and clean.
The views are jaw dropping, and you can enjoy watching the sun set while relaxing by the bonfire.
Whatever utensils you need, are provided.
Debbie was very welcoming.
Extra blankets and electric blankets were provided for those cold Karoo nights.
A complimentary bottle of wine made from grapes grown on the farm made it extra special.
The surrounding area is magnificent. Cape Nature does an excellent job at making it accessible. De Rust has some excellent eateries for lunch.

Such a pleasure to experience this farm stay.
Had the option to order meat and salad for a braai before arrival, which was on the table/fridge on arrival.
Ostrich prime steak was a first for us and delicious!
Beautiful views and peaceful.
Karla was most helpful with info we needed.
Meiringspoort is breathtaking as is the waterfall.
De Rust itself is a gorgeous little town.

Large property we did not have time to use outside braai but the garden is lovely.
The house is old and the layout a bit strange, but will work great for a family. And everything is clean and lots of arty details.
A little bit of everything to start us off, it was very thoughtful. Had great ostrich streaks at the Hotel (highly recommended)

The nostalgia of the revamped old hotel is a MUST visit... The peacefull walk through the neighborhood after sunset felt like tou are in another country. What a wonderful experience.
