We had an absolutely magical stay at this charming cottage nestled in nature. The highlight of our experience was undoubtedly the wooden hot tub under the stars - a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The rustic yet comfortable cottage provided everything we needed for a cozy retreat. Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay special, offering warm hospitality and helpful local tips. The attention to detail and their genuine friendliness made us feel instantly at home. The wooden hot tub deserves special mention - soaking in the warm water while surrounded by nature was pure bliss. It added that extra touch of luxury to our wilderness experience. What an excellent idea to book this magical place for one night. Chris the owner, was in Heidelberg by chance, met us and drove ahed of us to the villa. He gave us a great tour around the large property, which was a good idea, because the weather turned for the worse and we wouldn't have seen these beautiful vistas on the day of departure. Chris told us that he and his neighbour take good care of these large parcels of land, which mostly remain off bounds to tourists, are kept in their natural state and all non-indigenous trees are being removed. Our grandkids loved the villa's music-room and the biljart table. We all enjoyed being in this quiet, peaceful property that was filled with the owner's pieces of art, gathered from all or the world. We really felt that we were staying in someone's private home instead of in a holiday rental. Of course, as always, the big mistake was ,only book it for one night...

Breathtaking views to valleys and mountains!! The most orderly and clean farm we have ever seen! Cows and baby cows, sheep and singing birds.. We got satisfactory answers to all our questions and needs. Breakfast was very good (on demand). We could access our lodge and park privately. Very spacious area.. We loved it!!!!!!!!

What a peaceful oasis. Anna and Arno are lovely hosts who do everything to make you feel at home. They also gave me great tips for my next day's trip. The place is quiet, you just hear the birds singing, so your mind can really calm down instantly. I loved having my meals on the veranda with a view. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding, all fresh and high quality ingredients, plus a lot of it homemade by Anna (her homebaked bread is fabulous, and the chutney and jams, too!). I even got to taste some South African specialties. Anna catered perfectly to my vegetarian needs. The mattress was on the harder side, which was good for my back. The place is incredible - so many antiques, and almost all of them are far from randomly bought - instead, they belong to Anna's family, so it is "the real deal" and gives the place its soul. If you like it minimalist and modern - this is not your place. But if you like something unique and vintage with wonderful hosts, this will be to your liking. Also Anna had put some lovely plant decoration everywhere, with so much attention to detail. The doggos were super cuddly and friendly, too. Thank you Anna and Arno, I will gladly return when back in this area!

The location is just perfect and when you drive down to the accommodation, the views are amazing. Our stay was perfect, and they upgraded our room. Our chalet was big and beautiful with views of the dam/river. The rooms are very pretty and the beds super comfortable. The indoor fireplace was a bonus. Our stay was just too short, but will be back!
