Visiting Makongo Hills was the highlight of our South Africa holiday! We saw ture African beauty there! We had 4 game drives in total, our guide Brett was so knowledgeable about animals and great with our 4-year-old boy. So lucky for us that we saw the lion family in one morning. Kaylene, Bekiwe and other staff were super friendly and made us feel welcomed.

The friendliness of the staff. We arrived late afternoon and even though there were some challenges with them seeing the booking, they managed to resolve smoothly. In the morning as well, the breakfast was very nice and the staff treated us very well

The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The house is a bit far from town but it’s perfect if you want to enjoy the nature. The host was really kind and gave me everything I needed. They also gave me a few lifts to town. Very good value for money, will definitely visit again.

The place is 8 km from all Kings Palaces, a great place next...

The place is 8 km from all Kings Palaces, a great place next to the Zulu King Palaces, it is also best if you are catholic as it's close to the Marian Shrine for Catholics. Great mountains for hiking. Old layback neighborhood with reserved people and very safe. People are helpful and lovely. We had a braai in the property.its best to bring your cooked food from town and warm it as shops are far in town. Please avoid taking route in the north from pongola that won't take you to town first as roads have gravel.

The place is beautiful outside countryside.

The place is beautiful outside countryside. It's based right in the middle of Zulu cultural homes. It is 1km from a Royal Zulu king farm, the place is interesting as its close to the Roman Catholic Marian Shrine at Ingome. So one get to visit. It is also close to OSuthu Nyokeni Reed Dance Venue one of the attractions in KZN. The place has gravel as it rural. Gravel is only 1.8 km from the main R618 main road to Nongoma Town or Vryheid. It's 17 km to town and 100 km to Vryheid, 46 km to Pongola and 48 km to Ulundi. We were offered beautiful breakfast and free tea station. We also got to hike in the morning at Thokazi Mountain. The place is Tranquil. Most photos on the site are true reflection of the sorrounding places.
