My best recommendation. The staff were so nice and helpful. Immediately you felt as a part of their family Eg.: When we came back from our first full day safari, they greeted us – with dogs, puppies and all – just to welcome us back. Landlord is a very skilled ranger and gave us a bush-walk, teaching us about the fauna and how it is to share fence with The Krüger. Landlady is a fantastic chef, preparing healthy inspiring dishes and great lunchboxes. Huge room and also a big furnished patio. Bonfire every evening to the sound of zebras or monkeys and a lovely pool to dip into. A perfect spot if you travel in a group and I am sure that singles and couples always will feel included as well.

So so great! Bongan is just such a warm and friendly person and often speaks to you as guest and has a high interest in your well-being. He is also eating together with you. We could book in addition an African dinner, which was so great. Furthermore, the accommodation ist super modern and clean and has much space in the room. Can 10/10 recommend and definitely follows “European standards” so to say. It has even two showers and two bathroom sinks. The accommodation is part of a sweet and small little African village, which makes the stay super authentic. We always felt very safe. Also the pool is very nice!

Annie is so friendly and helpful. Everywhere was immaculate and exceptional quality. Wonderful breakfast of fruits, yoghurts, pastries and full English. The staff went out of their way to cater for our fussy eater son! Evening meals delicious. We loved having sundowners up the lookout tower. A fridge in the room was a bonus. Only 40 mins from Orpen Gate. Such a relaxing location we will definitely be back and for longer next time.

We had the best time at Phelwana! We’d really recommend staying at the lodge. We stayed in the tent and it was immaculately clean. Every morning we were greeted with different animals at the tent like monkeys, baboons, bunnies, deer and even a baby giraffe! The staff were exceptional, really friendly and helpful. Every member of staff went above and beyond for us to ensure our stay was excellent. We especially loved Jeffrey who made sure our every meal was amazing and that we had everything we needed. He even taught us some of his mother tongue language and we loved his jokes! Sly was an excellent guide who was so knowledgeable on our game drives. The game drives and bush walk were so cool and we saw so many animals like hippos, zebra, giraffes. The food was so nice, every meal we had was perfect! Inkomu swinene 🙏

We arrived quite late after a struggle with navigation but had great directiond and such a warm welcome from our host Annie. The house is so beautiful and inviting, with such a great eye for detail. We loved spending time on the veranda and the evenings around the fire was exactly what we needed after long days in the Kruger. We loved the four legged friends that checked in every now and then. We hope to come back and enjoy more of the facilities!
