Spacious and comfortable room and lovely pool and gym facilities. Immediate access the park so great for self-drives or guided tours. The breakfast buffet was excellent but the evening buffet was pretty average, however, there are other restaurant choices within walking distance.

Skukuza is a gem—especially if you want that mix of real bush experience without giving up comfort. It’s one of the bigger camps in Kruger, so there’s quite a bit going on, but it still manages to feel peaceful. Favourite spots: We really enjoyed the early morning drives around the park. We were self-driving but cleverly kept an eye on the guided tour operator vehicles, and that helped us catch most of the big sightings. It made the whole experience exciting and rewarding. Where we ate: We mostly self-catered but had a nice meal at the Kruger Hotel on our first evening after arriving past 7 pm. Most of our shopping was done at the Park Shop inside the camp—it was well-stocked and convenient. We even bought some game meat (like kudu and impala), which we braaied once we returned to Rixile. It was delicious and made for a real bush-style dinner. Getting around: Very easy. The camp is drivable and well signposted. If you’re self-driving (as most people are), Skukuza is a great central base for game drives, with plenty of routes and good animal sightings in every direction. Activities for groups of friends: Game drives are the highlight—we had some unforgettable ones. I'd also suggest booking a guided morning drive and, if you're feeling adventurous, trying different types of game meat like wildebeest, crocodile, or impala. It’s a fun experience to share as a group. Evenings back at camp were equally special—braaiing under the stars, swapping stories, and comparing notes on sightings. Skukuza offers just the right balance of wild and comfortable.

I saw loads of the animals I was looking for, Giraffe, Rhino, Impala, Crocodile, Elephants Kudu, and even a couple of Lions and 2 Leopards. Saw the Wild Dogs and Buffalo. I also played golf at Skukuza Golf Club which was a bit of fun. Everyone was friendly and we always felt safe.

Located close skukuza gate of the Kruger national park.

Located close skukuza gate of the Kruger national park. It was value for money. Friendly staff and helpful. Missed having a kitchen portion, as it was not self catering. Really enjoyed our stay there.

This was the only accomodation I could find last minute in Lower Sabie and had low expectations but it was actually cute and very comfortable with parking space right next to tent, comfortable beds, ac, large fridge and a great campsite environment around. We saw more interesting animals here than Skukuza. Menzie, the young man who maintains the tents is lovely. No bugs in September, no crime.

A beautiful home with all the luxuries you could hope for. Heated pool, sunny terrace, private boma and well-kitted kitchen. The bedrooms, outside shower and relaxing bath felt like a personal hotel suite within the home. Also the excellent service (from the reception to the daily cleaning staff) deserve a special mention. We loved our stay.

The accommodation is breathtaking with views over the river. You can watch elephants and hippo graze below you. The food is fantastic, every meal was an experience and the hotel staff are attentive and cater for every need. If you are looking for out of this world accommodation and food, with exceptional service than this is a must visit.
