We only drove through Trompsburg in the morning after our stay at En Route Guesthouse. It is a neat town with all the facilities required.
The roads are full of potholes like the rest of the South African small town environments.

Trompsburg is a very small town with not much to see and do. It is very conveniently halfway between Gauteng and where we wanted to go. We had something to drink at Affi-Plaas and enjoyed really, really good pizzas! The area is beautiful.

Trompsburg is your typical Free State town, small but pleasant. I will give a shout out to Snobs Coffee shop for their hospitality and great coffee. It is worth deviating from the N1 to enjoy a cup of Java freshly brewed by their barista.
