Perfect location for digital detox: no TV, no A/C, but the nature sounds and cooling canopy provide for better views, sounds and breeze. The swimming pool and adjacent patio are awesome for after dips and drinks. Just bear in mind to bring mosquito repellent as in all locations in this area.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is very nice, clean, and comfortable — the rooms are spotless and the air conditioner is perfectly cold. The kitchen is brand new and fully equipped with modern appliances, which made our stay even more convenient. It’s a perfect place for families, and we stayed for a week very comfortably. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and the price is very reasonable. The location is also great, very close to town. Highly recommended!

The owner of this property is incredible. She has tried to think of every little detail that a traveller may need and make them as comfortable as possible. While it may not be an idyllic location for the majority of your stay in Sri Lanka it is perfect for arrival or departure if you just want to relax before / after your journey. Maybe it would also be suitable for those spending more time in Columbo as it is only about 45 minutes from the city centre. The host has a caretaker who is amazing. He keeps the property in perfect condition. He also escorted us to the shared pool within the gated community and most surprisingly, after ordering food to be delivered, he set the table and actually plated up everything and served us in 5* standards. Once we were finished he cleared away the table so silently we didn’t even know he had been. 100% you must try to stay here when near Columbo.

Everything was perfect with the room, location, and the hosts! Communication was great. Such a friendly family who were really nice to talk with, and they just wanted to ensure my stay was the best it could be. So many added extras, such as tooth brush and toothpaste, water, coffee/tea and even a light and tasty dinner and breakfast included in the price. It felt like staying in a 5 star hotel 😍 I will always stay whenever arriving and departing Sri Lanka due to the excellent accommodation and service as well as the convenience of being so close to the airport.

We had the pleasure of staying three nights at The Travellers Rest with our family, and it was truly a special experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it felt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. The rooms were clean, cozy, and perfect for our family’s needs. Everything was thoughtfully arranged to make us feel comfortable and relaxed during our stay. Each morning, we enjoyed a thoughtful and delicious breakfast, lovingly prepared with a variety of options to suit everyone in the family. The attention to detail and care in each meal was something we truly appreciated. What made our stay truly unforgettable, though, was the incredible kindness and hospitality of the owner’s family. They were always ready to help with anything we needed and went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. A very special thank you to their beautiful three girls, whose warmth, smiles, and gentle presence made our visit even more memorable. They are a lovely family that we will never forget. The Travellers Rest is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place filled with heart. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely love to return one day.
