We stayed in Amberla Cottages for one night for a sleep after and before a long car journey. This is actually a really good quiet place! The rooms are nice and cosy, and the little house contains everything needed. Hokitika is a nice place too.

cutest wee cottage by the sea in a gorgeous wee town. We could walk to everywhere in town and there were lots of cool adventures in driving distance. We loved the way the cottage looked inside, especially having a fire all set up for us the first night. The bed was super comfy and we loved sitting on the front porch in the sunshine.

I knew the house was in town, so I was expecting the location to be central. But I wasn’t expecting ocean just a few steps from the backyard terrace. You can literally just jump from the backyard to the most charming driftwood beach. We enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and also stormy sceneries. Big New World -supermarket very close. Gareth was super nice and flexible host and the house was spotless. A good wifi as well. If you’re visiting Hokitika, I couldn’t imagine a better place.

The was a fantastic stay! The host is very kind! The house was very well organized, super clean and comfortable. Lots of towels, nice snacks in the fridge. Very generous host. The house is spacious and has many places to sit and relax, also outside. Very beautiful decorations. We had an amazing time and highly recommend!

This was our first tiny home experience and I loved it. The house itself tiny of course but everything you needed and the host had made the outdoor area very appealing. It was spotlessly clean and tidy. We had a bbq and it was lovely to self cater after so many restaurant meals. I do believe it would have been possible to order a chef cooked meal here as well. Wish we could have stayed longer but it was at the end of our trip and we needed to get back.
