Set in Rwumba, 24 km from Nyungwe Forest National Park, Nyungwe Hill View Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Perched on a hill with a panoramic view of Nyungwe forest, this is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding national park. The pictures online don’t do this place justice! We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights here - from a delicious welcome drink on our arrival to cleaning our boots after a days hiking and hot water bottles in the beds at night, the staff were all excellent! The food was great and we were offered a choice of taking our breakfast early before chimpanzee tracking or taking it to go - normally packed hotel breakfasts are disappointing but this was one of the best - freshly prepared fruit, pizza, cookies and cakes - it was delicious and perfect after a mornings hiking! If you are coming to Nyungwe Forest National Park (which is a must if you visit Rwanda!) then you absolutely have to stay here! Thank you to all of the staff who made our time here special!

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and shared lounge in Buhoro. The property has a terrace, as well as a bar. My family and I have just spent 3 fantastic nights in Umutozo lodge. The location is genuinely breathtaking, on the shores of lake Kivu. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel totally at home. The staff are all exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can honestly say I have never stayed at a place that has such a joyful, communal feel to it. I had read that dinner is served communally and as a reserved Englishman I wasn’t sure if I liked that idea but in reality it was truly lovely. It gave my family and I an opportunity to meet fellow travellers from around the world and it made the whole experience so homely. We loved it. The owner Phillipe is extremely hands on and a wonderful host. A very interesting, humble man, it was a pleasure to meet him. Similarly Eric, the hotel manager is someone my family and I will never forget. A lovely man and very helpful. I would highly recommend visiting Rwanda and any visit to Rwanda would not be complete without a stay at Umutuzo lodge. To all the team, thanks for making our stay so special

Situated in Ruhengeri, 45 km from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Karisimbi Cave Resort features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options.

I spent two wonderful nights at Umurobyi Lodge in Kibuye and was deeply impressed from the very first moment. The owners gave me such a warm and genuine welcom. Their attention to every detail made my stay truly special. The full-board arrangement was perfect, with delicious meals carefully prepared and beautifully presented each day. The lodge itself is majestic yet cozy, offering a touch of luxury within a warm, family-style atmosphere. It truly feels like a home away from home. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking (Lake Kivu shimmering at sunrise, swimming cows along the shore, and the mysterious beauty of Bat Island nearby). A big thank-you to the entire team for making my stay unforgettable. I cannot wait to return!
