From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The receptionists, Belle, Juliya, Vivi, Lily, and Joey, were all outstanding – professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. They made check-in a breeze, gave us great recommendations for things to do around town, and were always available to assist with any questions or requests we had. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly made our experience memorable. Whether it was directions, extra amenities, or just a friendly chat, this team went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. This well preserved BuddhaZen hotel is located in a traditional courtyard style building, situated in the Wenshu Square tourist attraction within the First Ring Road, adjacent to Tianfu Square, Hongxing Road Pedestrian Street, and Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street. It is surrounded by tourist attractions such as Manjusri College, one of China's eight major jungles, with convenient transportation and fast travel. The hotel fully combines traditional Chinese aesthetics to create a Zen atmosphere; Let you find tranquility and Zen in the hustle and bustle of urban civilization. The hotel has a quaint style and exquisite decoration, with various elegant guest rooms, as well as tea rooms and Chinese restaurants. Beautiful Chinese architecture and exquisite artifacts thruout. Wonderful English speaking front desk women and exceptional housekeepers. Breakfast consisted of fruit, cereal, muesli, fried eggs, bacon and toast as well as a multitude of deliciously prepared veggies, steamed bread and cake, and steamed rice and rice soup. Coffee and tea. Breakfast staff attentive and accommodating. IT solved connection issue immediately. Rooms were large enough for 2 and luggage with an easy to lock safe, closet to hang multiple outfits, glass door fridge, desk, water, tv, ac, terrace to view this ancient area. Walk in shower had plenty of hot water and excellent shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Sink was a Chinese ceramic bowl and had nice hand wash. Lots of amenities. Towels were nice and thick; sheets were soft to touch. Bed and pillows comfy. It was no problem for the property to accept a few ex package on my behalf and easily extended my reservation and changed it when my flight from Port Moresby was cancelled due to super typhoon ragasa.

The hostel provides a rich collection of free entertainment for guests to experience the local culture such us dumpling class, Sichuan cooking class, hot pot activity, Chinese facial painting and calligraphy. Chargeable tour arrangement is possible upon request. I stayed in a mixed dorm for about 5 nights in July 2025. The room had a private bathroom, which I shared with my roommates. It mostly wasn't any issue regarding bumping into each other in the bathroom. The room itself is quite spacy, provides a locker and also has an AC, which the guests can regulate. The laundry room offeres two washing machines, a dryer as well as many hanging racks. The washing machine and the dryer are able to be paid by Wechat (as well as the washing machine seems to work with coins as well.) The costs for one washing load comes to 11¥. When you enter the hotel, which was very easy to find caused by providing an accurate adress, you will find the reception on the left. The lobby itself has a Cafe vibe over day and turned to a bar at night (which allowes smoking during this time.). I am a non smoker and was worried about this before, but it actually never was that intense, so even didn't bother. The hotel also offers several trips to hot spots, you might consider. The only down side is, that for most of them you would need to sign up for two people (also possible with other guess). Regarding the service, I definitely can praise Nicole, the receptionist! She is extremly helpful, fun to chat to, even played some Majiang with me in the evening and offers an awesome service, such as the others as well. I seriously recommend staying there! The location is nice, even a bit far away from the metro station (15min. by foot), the service was excellent, room spacy, nice and clean.

Suites are spacious and feature stylish interiors. A coffee machine and a 42-inch flat-screen TV with cable channels. The en suite bathroom features toiletries and a bathtub. The Suite was very large and with super comfy bed. Great Central Location. Value for money was excellent
