What an amazing place, in a lovely quiet part of Holsted. Dogs are welcome, and we took advantage of the short nature wall by the park that follows a placid, pretty stream. The hotel has an eclectic decor, with themed rooms that are full of character and comfort. And they are incredibly spacious, many of them perfectly suited for families or large parties. We stayed in the Karen Blixen suite and it was incredibly comfortable and restful. The breakfast has no hot food options (beyond boiled eggs at request and a self-serve.waffle-maker), but it had a great selection of musli, jams, bread and cheese, deli cuts, pastries, and more.

Set in an old merchant’s house from the 1850s, Den Gamle Købmandsgaard Bed & Breakfast features individually designed guest rooms. Each is decorated with wooden floors, modern furnishings and contemporary art. All have a flat-screen TV, seating area and private bathroom. The suite was very spacious and the small shower room was cute. The kitchen had everything you needed and the breakfast (you could make it yourself) was fantastic...like in a four star hotel.
