Thanks to her, we got to explore the main Christmas markets and even had the chance to try some Croatian national dishes at the Zagreb Festival food court. We also enjoyed a concert by the famous Croatian singer Marko Tolya - now he’s going to be on top of our playlists for future trips! It was such a genuine and amazing experience. The room was comfy and had everything we needed for our one-night stay, but it would definitely be great for longer stays too. Oh, and yes, the breakfast! It was such a nice touch that in the morning, when we went down to dine, we were asked what type of eggs we’d like with our breakfast. Then, right next to the buffet, they made the eggs exactly how we wanted. Meanwhile, we enjoyed the other varieties of food offered by the hotel. Such a thoughtful and personal experience! We’ve already decided that if we visit Zagreb again, we’ll definitely book a room at Casablanca.

Located just across the Main Bus Station, this boutique hotel offers an on-site bar, modernly furnished rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. The centre of Zagreb with all its sights is 1.7 km from Hotel 9. the room was huge as was the bed and beautifully appointed. Loads of space in the closet with robe and slippers with a wonderful shower. Very clean. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding, wonderful buffet variety with fresh egg dishes available from the kitchen on request (try the omelette). Close to the bus stop so we walked there on arrival with our luggage and left the next day walking back to the bus stop to get the shuttle to the airport. Super easy. Can walk into historic city center in about half an hour or tram stop just outside.
