The Excelsior is located in the city centre of La Maddalena Island, a 2-minute walk from the ferries to/from Palau. There is free public parking in front of the hotel. One night unexpected further exploration from Olbia to see some of the small islands. Will stay longer next time. Well situated off ferry, last minute, kind woman, Nicole, at desk. I needed a phone charger, toothbrush and both were offered. Breakfast 👍🏼.

The hostess was very welcoming, giving us a tour of the fantastic property, sharing a lot of information about Tuili, also very helpful and keen. Her enthusiasm for what her family does is incredible. The location is a pearl, traditional Campidanese house very well taken care of with Sardinian vintage furniture and modern decorations, you will want to take pictures of this place! The breakfast was also fantastic, she prepared a little buffet for the 2 of us with a wide variety of local dishes including products produced by her family (honey, almonds, pecorino, melo, jams) and eggs, meat and cakes.

We were in phone contact and helped us to visit La Pelosa, because we had no tickets. 🎫 Basically the website does not write that breakfast include but we find a “welcome package” in the room, special Italian foods, snacks. It’s very nice from the staff.

Honestly! I cannot possibly oversell this place nearly enough!!! The thing is, I like to give credit where credit is due and this place 100% totally deserves it!!! Make no mistake about it: It's 100% absolutely top-notch! My word! I mean, I'm not even being hyperbolic or exaggerating here! It's really that great! Trust me! I promise you won't regret it! In fact, all the opposite! I'll bet you're going to 100% totally thank me!!!

First of all, parking was just 2 minutes away, the host waited for us for an late check in with no problems at all - just sweet and kind and lots of laughs! Then the place itself is a rustic and completely and beautifully renovated place where you can see the love behind the details. On top of it - just on the adjacent main street, so you're just in the middle of the action - we really loved it :D
