Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Asunaro The beautiful surroundings and authentic Japanese experience will stay with us forever. The welcoming feeling at all times, the beautifully appointed rooms with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The dining experience both at the Kaiseki dinner and the Japanese breakfast each morning was incredible. We have never experienced anything like it before.

It was beautiful, very clean and in a great location just a short walk from the historic centre of Takayama. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and made us feel so at home. I can’t recommend it enough!

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. Hosts are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome. The ryokan is very traditional. The japanese breakfast was amazing and we regret not to have booked the diner (it has to be 3 days in advance and when we saw how the breakfast was made we understood why, so make sure to book it). Location is very close to shops and restaurants. If you have a car, the host will guide you to parking spaces in the adjacent street. The ryokan has 2 onsen like baths shared among customers. Note: there are no private shower or toilet in the rooms.

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. the staffs are very friendly and helpful. the onsen is just great. very nice place to stay

Excellent service at the center of the city. I forgot sole earbuds in my room and they helped me review of i left them there

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Lovely place and k so much enjoyed my stay

Awarded in 2014 with TripAdivsor’s Certificate of Excellence, Takayama Ouan features traditional Japanese designs and tatami (woven-straw) flooring throughout. Excellent value! Really nice and spacious rooms. The futons lie on an extra mattress, making the introduction to them quite comfortable. Both the public hotspring and the private ones are really good and excellent to relax. Free food and sweets are also much appreciated:)

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal, this hotel boasts a natural hot spring bath where guests can unwind. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Great location. Very clean room, with bunk bed.. Good breakfast as well.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths looking over the city and heartfelt hospitality, Honjin Hiranoya Annex is ideally located just steps away from popular Takayama Jinya building and its morning... The food and the location were both excellent. The rooftop baths were amazing too.
