Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. Everything! This was the most beautiful ryokan with wonderful staff who were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. We had breakfast and dinner in our room and they were both superb - beautifully presented, exceptional tastes and served gracefully by the staff. A true delight! The amenities were comfortable and the onsen beautiful with both indoor and outdoor baths. The hospitality of Ryokan Tanabe is exceptional - if you are looking for a great ryokan experience I highly recommend staying here.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths looking over the city and heartfelt hospitality, Honjin Hiranoya Annex is ideally located just steps away from popular Takayama Jinya building and its morning... The food and the location were both excellent. The rooftop baths were amazing too.

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Friendly environment and staff are so polite and excellent services.

Het Chaya Hotel ligt op slechts 40 meter van Magome-Juku, een gerestaureerd poststadje uit het Edo-tijdperk. Het biedt eenvoudige traditionele kamers met futonbedden en tatami-matten op de vloer. Wonderful guesthouse run by lovely, helpful people. Excellent food, traditional, simple rooms and a really nice hot bathtub. Would definitely stay here again!

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. We loved our experience in Japanese style little hotel. Absolutely recommend!

Takayama Ouan werd in 2014 bekroond met het TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, en biedt een traditionele Japanse inrichting en tatami (matten van geweven stro) in alle ruimtes. The hotel is so nice, good ambiance, the floors are tatami so it’s very comfortable Nice bedroom and amenities, excellent public onsen (and there are also private ones with no extra fee), amazing breakfast (Japanese and western style)
