The villa is an architectural pearl. The owner and her team do everything to make you feel comfortable. If you expect sound-proof rooms, thick sink-in carpets or whiskey-tasting: this is definitely not your accommodation. If you can appreciate nice, home-made (organic) food, being part of local nature and culture, well-equipped rooms (fan, no a/c) this hide-away could enrich body, soul and positive feelings about Sri Lanka.

Adjacent to Unawatuna Beach, Sergent House is set in a boutique villa showcasing colonial architecture and originating in the 1800's.

The Sergeant House is an ensemble of buildings built in classical Sri Lankan architecture, with high-quality furniture typical of the country and lovingly designed, very appealing decoration in all areas of the complex. Although the original building is very old, it leaves nothing to be desired in terms of modern, contemporary comfort. The rooms are furnished and equipped down to the smallest detail. The lush tropical garden is well maintained and offers a sheltered Jacuzzi area and other quiet seating areas. The pool is elegantly blended into the grounds and offers a sort of jungle feeling when swimming. The really private small but nice beach offers sunny and shady spots on a nice lawn. As the hotel does not have many rooms, there was always a very private, quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are personable, friendly and well trained. The very nice, competent manager of the hotel Chanthuri is always available for her guests and was always a good help with any questions. The tuktuk drivers and masseurs she arranges are also highly recommended. There was nothing to complain about. I would happily come back anytime.

Beautiful hotel accross a picturesque beach. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. The staff are super lovely and attentive. The food is beyond delicious. Was able to try traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall the best hotel in Sri Lanka. Totally recommended. I would rate it 20/10.

Club Villa was such a beautiful place to stay! We stayed there for 2 days at the end of a busy trip travelling around Sri Lanka and we needed rest and relaxation! Everything about it was exceptional - best shower, comfortable spacious room! We loved the gardens and pool! The food was one of the best that we had in Sri Lanka! And above all the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us, we thank them very much. Wish we had another day or two. Mary & Sean (Ireland)

Small hotel with a fantastic pool and next to the sea. Room was big and had a fantastic sea view. Beach in front is nice for a swim, no rocks. Acces directly from the hotel. Staff was really nice, breakfast and dinner were great. Last night the chef prepared a special dinner for us next to the sea with fresh fish and seafood. Wonderful experience. Totally recommended!

It is fantastic place! We like everything so much! Incredible view on the beautiful ocean from all point of the hotel. Huge room and all necessary and modern inside (including coffee machine), comfortable bed, bathroom on open air, amazing terrace where you can enjoy the view. Very friendly and welcomed stuff. Very tasty food and drinks in the restaurant. The restaurant as all hotel has amazing ocean view. Waitress Iresha was very kind and professional, she recommended us ideal options for our lunch and dinner and treated us with great warmth and health. We asked for late check-out and the hotel provided it to us without any additional cost. We highly recommend this wonderful place to all!!!

The property was calm and clean - walking barefoot throughout was so relaxing. The food was delicious and the yoga was well managed and great. But I would recommend it most because of the family staff running it were amazing in all the details from organizing a beautiful stay and attention to additional details.
