Surrounded by beautiful native trees and bush land, Aspen Court Motel Franz Josef offers guests free Wi-Fi. Opened in December 2013, the property offers heated rooms with a flat-screen TV. The room was light and airy. All of the decor was modern and bright colours. There was nothing extra that you could have needed. Bathroom was spotless and so modern.

Opened in 2014 and offering 20 luxurious rooms with free WiFi, Franz Josef Oasis is just 10 minutes’ drive from the Franz Josef Glacier. The rooms were very cosy and the amenities provided were nice. The fireplace in the room was a great comfort as the weather was very chilly during our stay. We also enjoyed meeting Kona (Angela's dog) and his bunny friend who were very warm and friendly.

The staff was great. They were responsive when we reported loud noise after hours. The room and bathroom are large and the kitchenette is well supplied. The bed is huge and very comfortable. There is not much of a view but you are located close to Woolworths and several fast food restaurants if you desire.

Backing onto peaceful greenery, 10 Cottages offers self-contained cottages with a balcony, just 2 minutes' walk from the center of Franz Josef Glacier and a 3-minute walk from the Glacier Hot Pools. We arrived after check in was closed and left before check in was open so we never met the staff. However we had the key left for us with instructions and the accommodation was lovely. The water was hot and we had a lovely stay.
