Marcelo was so helpful during our stay and is an all around great guy! The Palo Alto is extremely lucky to have him. The hotel has impeccably beautiful gardens and is quite serene with the sound of birds. Our room had an amazing view of Volcan Baru and we enjoyed watching as the light and weather changed up at the top. The outdoor bar provides a full lovely breakfast with friendly service and views of the river. In the evening the bar is quite romantic with a fireplace to keep you warm. We enjoyed having a drink at sunset (with Marcelo bartending) and then relaxing in the hot tub after a half day of hiking. The hotel far exceeded our expectations!

As a vegan it was great to have really good food options. Also the staff everywhere were fantastic - in particular Roger, Luis and Hadee on the front desk were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
