Very nice cosy hotel for the money. It’s rated 2 stars but you get amazing breakfast with scrambled eggs etc. room is clean and quiet, right opposite train station. There are no ready waiting bottles of water in the room- but as a reminder you can drink sink water in Switzerland, it’s as clean as Evian. Staff is friendly, easy checkout. Big like.

The Eckstein Centre is 7 minutes' walk away from the Baar Train Station and 5 km from Zug. It is easily accessible from the A4a motorway and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.

It is clearly signed and close to Steinhausen station with easy access by key-code and card. The shared lounge and kitchenette is comfortable and convenient. Our bedroom was very clean, fully equipped with a good shower. We slept well for a two-day visit to see our daughter (who lives in Steinhausen) and meet our new grand-daughter. Andi served us breakfast which is included. Andi is a wonderful host, very keen that we enjoyed our stay.

The property is set in a stunning area. Whilst Switzerland in general is extremely picturesque, you cannot beat the views which are on your door stop. You are set on Lake Zug with views of the surrounding mountains. Whilst slightly off the beaten track it is easy accessible with the train station a short 5 minute walk away with good connections. Not that you’d know because you don’t hear the trains! You can swim in the pool or take a swim in the lake or even better… paddle boarding! The outdoor area is well decorated with the sun setting down throughout the day. The property itself is designed for couples but is well designed, clean and modern. The host is happy to be contacted throughout the stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again despite being on the pricier side which I think is currently a fair value.

Very friendly owners & staff. They made us feel at home from the moment we entered. We loved our room with beautiful classic touches. The bed was super comfortable and the room has a Nespresso machine, which we like for our morning coffee. The restaurant is superbe; very much recommended (also with a few delicious vegetarian & vegan options). Breakfast was indulging. Compliments to the Chef and his/her team ♥️ Ambiance is great! Lots of eye for detail and subtle touches of romance every where. We were here in wintertime, which is very cosy and for sure summertime here must be wonderful too, with the lake only a few steps away (3-5 minute walk). Made our morning walk before breakfast and enjoyed the views and crispy air in the early morning sun. We are looking forward to come back soon!
