Hotels in Kavros, Georgioupolis

Very clean and modern hotel with excellent clear water pool, comfortable beds and calm atmosphere. Friendly and accommodating staff made sure that we had everything for the comfort - fridge, slippers, bathrobes. We felt very welcome and appreciated that our early check-in request was met. Huge plus is the hotels location: near the lake Kournas and a very short drive to Rethymno. Restaurants, beach and shopping made us stay in the area and we have visited cities only for sightseeing.

Warm welcome from the reception night staff Georgios and other girl later on, the day staff Manos, Argyro, Antous. They were all really friendly and helpful at any time. lovely well equipped room with all what is needed for our stay. great shower with loads jetted functions. Outside of our garden level room was welcoming jacuzzi and hanging basket chair. The whole atmosphere and the grouds of the hotel were so relaxing and very quiet in the evenings, so as secure! If you are looking for relaxing/ romantic holiday La mer Resort & Spa is the right choice! High standards of daily room service. Morning and evenings meals at Perle Noir restarant we were looked forward for delicious traditional and all the rest varaites food with great and always smiling shefs and most important of all professional restaurant staff - Evgenia, Nicolaus, Elefaria and always smiling Labros All were really polite and helpful! Evgenia knew well after first day of our breakfast what I wanted to drink, and as soon I was back to the table with delicious breakfast plate , perfect Greek coffee was made by her and brought to me! It was interesting to find out that water, drinks/ spirits etc at the dinner time and by the outdoor pool, beach, they were all served at an additional charge. And each time kindly was asked by staff how would you like to be charged ( we had choosed to the room, and paid all at our check-out). We had a choice for the dinner and decided to get it one's At La Brise de la Mer restaurant( at additional charge), and at that evening we enjoyed amazing views of mountains, full moon and delicious dinner. Victor said he had one of the Best cooked steaks ever! Credit to the shef. During high pick of the day sun, other credit to the Resort is Spa service and all relaxing facilities- salty refreshing water of the swimming pool, hammam, steam room, massage- I can talk about it long, but best is to experience it all yourself with professional staff Maria.

Great location with a nice beach and swimming pools. Very good breakfast, lovely garden and very nice staff. Rooms very comfortable and clean.

Very close to local shops, car/bike/motor bike hire, tourist attractions, buses, and a train service that took you to a few interesting places locally (when I say ‘close’ I mean within a 10 to 15-minute walking distance). I took the ‘Talos Express’ train to Kournos Lake (€6), the waterfalls at Argyropolis (€15), and a wine and olive tour (€15). The train has many ‘stations’ on the way to Kournos Lake so you can get on and off along the way (it is ideal if you want to visit Georgioupoli just along the coast). There are many other trips run by the two operating train companies depending on the time of year. There were plenty of good taverners locally - and very reasonably priced. The beach was a 10 to 15-minute walk away (although you did have to cross quite a busy main road to get there). The swimming pool used exclusively for those staying at any of the apartments was excellent with plenty of sun beds, and the surrounding area was very well kept. There were cleaning staff working every day, and the rooms were kept spotlessly clean and tidy. There is a pool bar but it wasn’t manned when I was there - maybe because people hardly used it (?). This didn’t appear to be a problem though for any of the guests staying at the Diaz as those who wanted a drink brought their own (cheaper, I suspect, anyway). The shower room had hidden vents in the windows that saved you having to open and close windows to let any excess steam out. Each apartment had a 2-burner electric stove and a refrigerator with enough cutlery etc. for 2 people (it is not really suitable though for people who want to do their own cooking on a daily basis). I had a balcony with two chairs and a table that overlooked a small olive grove - nice during the daytime as it was protected from the direct sun. All-in-all I really enjoyed staying at the Diaz and will definitely go back there again (maybe next September).

Staff, kitchen, seafront, cleanliness, room size, beds

I am happy to choose this hotel. Everything was good and the staff is really nice. You can feel comfortable in it, and rest. Everything is close: bus stop, shop, bakery, beach. And there is a few kilometers to the lake whery you can start walking through the footpath which can take you to the mountains.

The hotel had a great location – a beautiful, clean, and comfortable small family-run hotel. Everything met our expectations and matched what was promised. The restaurant by the beach, right next to the hotel, served incredibly tasty food made from fresh, local ingredients – for example, there was a tomato field right next to the restaurant! All our additional requests and questions were answered quickly and positively. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming, with Pablo standing out as the true face of the hotel thanks to his exceptional service. The hotel is located just a short walk from a beautiful beach. I highly recommend it to anyone who values quality, peace, and a relaxing holiday :)
