This is a totally lovely place, 200 years old and formerly a Muslim mansion, very fortunately unrestored except for electricity and suchlike. Those who needed to use outside lavatories and shower would have found them entirely functional and clean; but those only interested in being pretentious should go elsewhere. It is perfectly quiet, except for the usual catawauling from a nearby mosque, as to be expected. The location as regards anything that could be called central in a city so spread out as Chennai, is good.
