Everything was exceptional!
Facilities and rooms were new, featuring modern design and high quality materials. The bed was comfortable and cleaning service exceptional.
The restaurant and bar area is cosy and perfect for a meal/drink after sightseeing!
Staff did a great job, always attending to requests with kindness and professionalism!
The hotel is located near Kyoto station (access to Shinkansen rapid service and Osaka airport via Haruka Express JR train). It is also located within a comfortable walking distance to Kyoto downtown area and Gion.

It was beautiful! Was great coming home from a long day out to a clean and comfortable oasis. Gym facility has everything you need and their staff are very friendly. Laundromat had a number of machines and staff were prompt to empty any unattended machines if notified. The rooms were spacious and so luxurious

Very nice rooms with everything you need - place to sit and drink some tea, space for clothes, nice bathroom. Bed and pillows are 10/10 comfortable and provided pajamas are an extra bonus.
In the B1 floor there is an onsen which you can use as a guest which is just great! Additionally, there is a guest lounge with a lot of complimentary snacks and drinks which you can enjoy. There is also a laundry room.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design.
The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed.
Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor.
The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair.
The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area.
There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies.
The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time.
Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue.
This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located.
I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto.
The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

The staff were exceptional, so helpful and gave lots of tips for things to do. We especially liked the warm welcome every evening we arrived back to the ryokan . The interior feels really authentic Japanese and it was fantastic to experience a traditional Japanese room to sleep. The ryokan was so close to most of the major sites and metro/train stations. We cannot recommend this ryokan enough. A rating of 10 is not high enough!
