The house has everything... And more! It is really traditional, with a lot of cultural objects to admire. The host was amazing at all times and helped us with everything we needed - he also provided a bike for every single person! Would definitely recommend.

Everything was above expectations, the property looks even better than the photos and the first 5 words that came out of our mouths were WOW. From entering to the front garden to viewing the apartment.
The host was excellent, helpful and greeted us with a smile and the Japanese kindness.
Definitely wishing to return back in the future.
The area is a calm and silent neighborhood and the property as advertised has a free parking spot.
Cleanliness was exceptional and we wish we had more days for this wonderful house.
Highly recommended for anyone traveling to Kyoto.

This house was fun! A machiya of the 21st century, full of gadgets, quirky and amazing, with every niche giving a different surprise. We loved the garden, had some dinners outside looking into it. We LOVED to use the bikes around the neighbohood, especially going to the bathouse, temples and restaurants - that made us feel really like the locals. The nearby Kyoto-style restaurant, and its next door sushi place are amazing. The location of the house is great - quiet old neigbohood, close to the center and ideal point from which to explore such a special city/province.

If you're looking for the authentic Kyoto Japanese style living, this is the place to be. I particularly enjoyed the small center courtyard where I spend time reading everyday. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. Every amenity is just steps away. If you can ride a bike everywhere, it'll be even nicer.

I liked how amazing and helpful the host was. Was such an amazing experience! She was very nice and always replied back to emails when discussing concerns. There are no complaints from me!

Ability to be independent and enjoy being within a Japanese home at the same time.
Amazingly good location. Perfect base for exploring anywhere, anytime of day. Buses run till late. Great restaurants nearby.

Very nice and had public baths also. Appreciate that they let my girlfriend use the baths even tho she had small tattoos, also accommodated a vegan breakfast for her
