Everything. Location is great, few restos around, big shopping mall just next to the hotel. Extremely nice and helpful staff, my children didnt want to leave. Room was very spacious and comfortable. The cherry on top was a small tv in the bathroom.

Very welcoming hotel and hotel staff, with all amenities including pajamas. There's washing machines where you can do the laundry for a small cost. In the evening you can have a glass of wine in the restaurant or a tea. The location is also good, close by train stations and bus stops. Overall I think it was our preferred stay in Japan

Location: 5mins walk to Kyoto station. Easy to take all kinds of transportation, JR, bus, Haruka……
Room Size: very big! Which is quite rare in Japan. We three adults really enjoy the big space in the room
Kitchen: nice kitchen utensils and plenty of bowls. We used them to cook a wonderful meal.
Bathroom: can’t believe they have two washing basins there! Love that! Also, they offer high-quality products: shampoo from POLA(which I regret not asking if I can buy some from them), and hair dryer from Dyson.
Lock: I admire they use password to open the door instead of electronic cards. We three all can open the door and don’t have to worry about forgetting the key.
Staff: very kind and helpful

very clean and cozy room with everything you need. there is a smoking area on the ground floor, laundry (very convenient with the drying function!), as well as a toilet at the reception, which is very convenient, there is no need to go up to your room. Drinking water and tea/coffee can be collected there. If it rains, the hotel will provide umbrellas, arrange luggage delivery to a hotel in another city (for very good money). Access 24 hours. The staff is polite.

Thank you all who wrote such accurate positive reviews as they helped me pick Sunrise and thank you to the designers, developers, managers and staff who created and maintain this hotel. It’s an easy 12 minute walk from the station with lots of side alleys to explore along the route. Along the alleys there are several restaurants and small businesses. There is also good bus service in the area. The hotel is set back from the busy street which lessens noise. The staff are very helpful, gracious and polite, even giving us a tip for a good Italian place within walking distance. The design throughout references aspects of Japanese design without becoming a cliche. Our room was on the first floor across from reception (so with a view of the koi pond) and was quiet and very roomy. Great bed, comfy yakatas. The kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed. The bento box breakfasts were good and having 4 options great. We also opted to get cereal from the nearby Fresco for a change. The clothes washer was easy to use—using the wash and dry function means a 3 hour time and some items will be a bit creased. The room was extremely clean and filled with small details that made life easier. And there is that temple across the street. This was a fabulous place to stay.

Wonderful little hotel with amazing rooms like tiny apartments with everything you need..kitchen, washing machine, comfy beds, little things provided like coffee, tee, detergent, slippers, shower gel,...very nice staff...about 10min walking from train station...on the way there we saw one street with so many little restaurants...gion is quite a walk about 40min but we enjoy seeing the city like this...very clean, really highly recommended
