My room was clean and warm, and the space was cozy for an overnight stay. Very quiet.There’s also a bus stop nearby, and the hotel is located in a picturesque area, close to many temples and the Philosopher's Path.
What impressed me the most was their garden, which is in a different building about a 10-minute walk away—it’s incredible! However, I spent a long time looking for the location at first, so I recommend checking it on Google Maps right away.

What a treat. Stayed here for 2 nights with 3 friends as a way to unwind in the middle of our 2 week trip, and it is so incredibly charming.
The atmosphere in the mountains is so calming, and the onsen is extremely relaxing. Dinner and breakfast are traditional Japanese, and absolutely delicious. Help yourself to some sake with dinner, our server was kind enough to recommend us something tasty.
Speaking of service, the staff were extremely kind and patient with us 4 foreign men with little to no Japanese. I never felt looked down upon.
Stay here! it's beautiful and relaxing!

Clean rooms, general idea of the property is perfect - mangha themed and they even have tiny gallery of original japaneese art. The stuff was also very pleasant and helpful, especially two gorgeous girls. Everybody speaks English very well, which was very helpful.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, despite the language barrier. They always tried their best to make every aspect of our stay as pleasant as possible. The Luxury Spa Suite was amazing! Very spacious and the huge onsen was out of this world. We were traveling as a party of six and we got to dine in different private dining rooms in the property and each of them face a large and beautiful garden. The food served at breakfast and dinner was also superbly crafted and provided an amazing culinary experience for my family and I. I would HIGHLY recommend this Ryokan for anyone visiting Kyoto.
