What a treat. Stayed here for 2 nights with 3 friends as a way to unwind in the middle of our 2 week trip, and it is so incredibly charming.
The atmosphere in the mountains is so calming, and the onsen is extremely relaxing. Dinner and breakfast are traditional Japanese, and absolutely delicious. Help yourself to some sake with dinner, our server was kind enough to recommend us something tasty.
Speaking of service, the staff were extremely kind and patient with us 4 foreign men with little to no Japanese. I never felt looked down upon.
Stay here! it's beautiful and relaxing!

I stay at this inn with my family for two weeks. Our room was spacious, even though three of us lodged in it, and spotless, with crisp bed sheets every day—which I learned they use a thing called koro-koro to make it happen. The surrounding area is a residential area, so it is peaceful, but it is not so far from a bus shelter or train station. So strategic.
The owner of the inn and staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. All of them can fluently speak English and are very helpful. We can ask them everything: supermarket location, directions to a lot of places, and also help us with the crane origami tutorial.
We feel like we stay in our relatives' houses for all their hospitality and kindness. Even I felt sad when we left the inn to fly back home. Awkward! But in a good way. I strongly suggest everybody stay at this little “warm” inn while visiting Kyoto.

Clean rooms, general idea of the property is perfect - mangha themed and they even have tiny gallery of original japaneese art. The stuff was also very pleasant and helpful, especially two gorgeous girls. Everybody speaks English very well, which was very helpful.
