We reached Takao station by bus, and there was someone there from the hotel waiting for us to take us by shuttle to the ryokan. The ryokan itself located in a beautiful location near the river and Jinkoji temple. The area itself is a hidden gem, serene and far from the crowds of Kyoto. The service was amazing, the food, the room and the view from the outdoor bathtub.

Customer service was outstanding. The food was delicious and we had a beautiful relaxing time in the private onsen. Good area to have a small walk as well (visited temples around). It was serene and peaceful.

One of the most fantastic places I've stayed in. Located in the middle of jungles atop a mountain , with the river flowing right next to it- such perfect placement. The host was also really caring, accommodating- the hotel seemed more like home! They gave us fresh kimonos and Slippers (indoor as well as outdoor), the food was absolutely authentic, they even had a really good onsen. Absolutely loved it.

A 10-minute drive from Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryokan Yamazaki offers a hot public bath and serves breakfast and traditional dinners for an additional fee.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsui Garden. The hotel is ideally located, within a short walking distance from the lively Kawaramachi and Nishiki market, and very close to bus and railway stations. The room was quiet, spotlessly clean and spacious. Many convenience stores and cafes are also nearby. I would definitely recommend Mitsui Garden for a hassle-free stay in Kyoto.

The hotel, the staff and the location were all 10/10 We booked it at a great price point and were super happy with the choice. The hotel is located in a wonderful area with a lot of shops, not so far away from the most crowded locations. The room was very spacious, comfortable and came with a washing machine. It was cleaned daily and we really enjoyed. We didn't try the breakkie, so I cannot comment on that. Would repeat stay and recommend it.
