We stayed in Shion room which was really special with a stove in the living room, a foot bath room and indoor bath.
The outdoor public bath was really good too, and not crowded at all in the morning.
The service provided by all the staff was very welcoming, making us feel relax and comfortable. Really enjoy the stay.

Unforgettable experience, this place is amazing. It was the first time for me and my wife in a Ryokan. There are various inside and outside Onsen, and also a private Onsen. The service is great and the food is wonderful. The employees were extremely kind and dedicated in our well-being.

The osen experience is unique. We did the cave and the open-air osen. The old building, and the open-fire grill for dinner, the beef, etc... It is right next to the river and it is in the center of the town. Very conveniently located. A lot of tourists take selfies in front of the buildings so it is a destination on its own.

Lovely spacious house, with a piano and a private little onsen bathroom!
There were two additional onsen outside, which you could use privately as well, both were beautiful.
The house was nicely located in between the Kuju Mountains and the Aso volcano, so we spend our days hiking.

I love this place--and I can't remember the last time I wrote that on a booking.com review. Brand new wooden cabins squeezed in a tight valley in the middle of the woods, next to a little stream of water. The lodges owner lives in a cabin next door, warm welcome and always willing to help. The cabin was squeaky clean, had everything I could desire and even more (a piano!). The private onsen is a few steps away from the cabin, if you want something more social there's plenty of public onsens around (one down the road has a view on the river). Quiet, fresh air, plenty of hikes a short drive away. I stayed in the middle of winter, heating and thermal insulations were on point.
