THis was my first stay in a Ryokan and it did not disappoint. THe whole experience was magical - the room, the view over the hills, forest and town, the baths. The meals were excellent - two different breakfasts and and we took to the opportunity to have the Kaiseki dinners - an amazing assortment of tastes and textures. Kurokawa is a magical town that is wonderful to walk aroundand we took the opportunity to get an Onsen passport to try a few of the other baths. THe parking is easy. THe staff were excellent and patiently helped us understand the way to to enjoy a Ryokan

What an extraordinary stay! We had one of our best nights in Japan at Okyakuya! From the first minute the service was outstanding, our baggage was transported to our room, car parked. Great room, even tough traditional it was modernized keeping its original charm. Both dinner and breakfast where amongst the best we had in any Ryokan we stayed at. After checking out we where offered additional towels as we wanted to explorer other Onsens in town

Yamabiko Ryokan is genuinely one of the very best i've been to. They have many in-house private onsen which is lockable) to give more privacy which is a bonus. Their public onsen is just amazingly relaxing and scenic. To top it off, both lunch & dinner are absolutely delicious with impeccable service. Truly a memorable and unforgettable experience, as an ryokan should be.

Excellent and friendly service. Had to request the hotel to send help due to car being stuck in snow. We'll thought of touches to the rooms.

A charming place. Excellent Japanease style interiors. Quite and clean. Superb dinner and breakfast. Relaxing Onsen on site. A nice short walk though the village - some old houses, other ryokan and the river in the middle. Way better then Beppu
