The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We're a group of 8 adults. The owner picked us up from Nakatsugawa station with 3 cars. One to send our luggage back to the guest house. The other 2 cars brought us to the supermarket to buy ingredients for us to cook our dinner at night. Upon our request, they dropped us at Magome town, and brought our ingredients back to the homestay and arranged nicely in the refrigerator. The next day, the owner again helped us to send our luggage to our next accommodation. The homestay has everything we need. The kitchen is fully equipped. The owner prepared a lot of free food and drinks for us. We also love the outdoor wooden bathtub, outdoor dining area and the hammocks. They have cherry tree too. Must be really beautiful in the spring.

You couldn't get a better location to experience the Nakasendo trail. Beautiful house with excellent views in the front and rear. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay great!

Wonderful guesthouse run by lovely, helpful people. Excellent food, traditional, simple rooms and a really nice hot bathtub. Would definitely stay here again!

Nagataki was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The hotel arranged a taxi service from the station, which was incredibly helpful and made our arrival completely stress-free. The moment we stepped onto the property, we felt like we had traveled back in time. The houses are beautifully preserved and full of character, with details that make you slow down and appreciate the craftsmanship. Walking through the grounds felt like being inside a living piece of history, yet everything was impeccably maintained and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely incredible. Each meal was prepared with so much care, and every dish felt thoughtful and balanced. It was one of those rare dining experiences where you’re reminded of how special traditional Japanese cuisine can be when done with genuine skill and passion. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the service. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made us feel welcomed in a way that felt heartfelt rather than formal, and their hospitality elevated the entire stay.
