We loved our stay at Hotel Wood Takayama and it would be a dream to return one day!. The room was peaceful and relaxing. The breakfasts arrived like a boxed present, so gorgeous. We couldn’t get over the free sake, beer and drinks during the evenings, amazing! The location is the best, a family mart is nearby and it’s within walking distance of everything that the old town has to offer, shops and dining. I hope we can return one day.

The staff was absolutely amazing. There was an older couple looking after us who were so kind, fun, and hospitable. They were funny and sweet and made sure to take care of us. Our room overlooked the river and we had our own toilet. The bath was shared but it wasn't a problem for us, we only had to wait for 30 minutes one time and the facilities themselves are EXCELLENT. This stay was a highlight of our trip!

Breakfast was wonderful (we had Japanese). Kaiseki dinner was equally good. We upgraded the dinner on the second night, and to be honest, the upgrade was not worth the cost.
