Our second visit, this time with our children. The onsen is our absolute favourite - peaceful wooded location with stunning food and impeccable service. The private onsen are fantastic with the large hilltop one a pinch-me moment. You won’t regret if you book.

Didn't take the meals but the ryokan is very close to the main shopping street. Easy to find food. Pleasantly surprised that the ryokan is very well kept, clean and bright. Staff are friendly and speak good english. Ryokan provided advice on how to drive there too.

Food was wonderful, such a great quality of ingredients, so filling, and totally worth it for the price. The place was amazing and calm, and both the private bath, and the family one was clean, comfortable and great. The location is really close also to the lake, and the main street to explore during the day. Futon was really comfortable, and they provided a kotatsu since it was really cold outside. It was a dreamy traditional japanese stay.

Small but cozy. The staff are polite and helpful. There are a few hot springs that can be blocked for private use as long as no one is using.
