It is a short walk from the ferry and might be a bit hard to find on your first time on your own. But no problem, get a porter or directions when you get off the ferry. It is a lovely walk as the island is so small and you walk through its beauty including past the Museum of Slaves. But the best part is when you get to the hotel. The hotel is built along the outside of old colonial walls - really interesting. And a quick path from the hotel to walk along the ocean and amongst basalt columns. If we hadn't stayed at this hotel, we would have definitely missed this unique geographical feature. We went to the island for the same reason everyone else goes, the Museum of Slaves and other architecture, but this was an unexpected bonus. We enjoyed it the way we did Iceland's basalt and Ireland's Giant's Causeway. The history of the island overshadows mentioning this in any literature that I am aware of. The owner is a very kind and hospitable host. She is a most impressive woman who is continually building her gardens and property. The gardener is a lovely man too and also one of the island's painters. This place with its lovely people and uniqueness beats any fancy 5 star corporate hotel.

Amazing property, a lovely accommodation with numerous artworks. Delicious breakfast, too. The staff was extremely helpful. He assisted us in the evening of our arrival - to look for restaurants that are open late at night.

New apartment house, just like on the photos. Very clean! Safe building, and also has a guard 24/7, but the neighborhood is good. We have never felt unsafe on the street, walking out to the main street to get a taxi. Excellent staff, very kind and helpful. We had an issue with one of the windows - they have fixed it in 30 minutes. Our apartment was quiet, too, we slept well. We had a wonderful stay, and would be happy to be back!
