As hoteliers/restaurateurs, we have a different and sometimes stricter perspective than others. I can only congratulate the hotelier here. We had room 320 and were completely satisfied. What a great room and the service was always unobtrusively nice and courteous. We have traveled halfway around the world but rarely have we stayed in such a great hotel. Congratulations! The Waterman is well situated for the waterside and downtown. It's easy to walk to the beach, the wharf, the Presidio, and the Los Banos pool (a lovely outdoor pool). The hotel room was fine but no more than fine. It did have lots of hooks to hang coats from though... Breakfast facilities were minimal, but there was plenty of availability of free coffee and tea. We didn't see any guests using the cooker hob - slightly weird in a hotel, but if you fancied scrambling some eggs then the equipment was there. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. OK for a one night stay.
