The minute I set foot in this hotel, I loved it so much that I booked another night. It’s luxurious in every way, yet somehow still homely and intimate. Every member of staff was not only kind and thoughtful in helping me with my bags and storage, accommodating last-minute requests, etc—but went above and beyond to ensure guest happiness. Everyone was incredible and deserves high praise, although I must give special thanks to the head of guest experience (Francine?). Best service I have ever seen, even relative to other 5-star properties. The food was superb…I particularly enjoyed the peri peri chicken, malva pudding, and watermelon chilli mocktail. I also loved this lavender/white chocolate drink they made with nondairy milk…ugh I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! I should also note how conveniently located it is—literally right by Rosebank Gautrain, with nearby shops, restaurants, etc. Thank you for a fabulous stay! This is the only place I wish to return when next in Johannesburg, and I passionately recommend this hotel to all.

Everything at this place is truly top-notch. We’ve now stayed twice at The Giglio during our time in South Africa, and it has become a real little gem for us. It’s located in a quiet, safe area just 15 minutes from JNB airport, making it the perfect travel hub. The guest rooms are super cosy and impeccably clean, and the restaurant serves excellent food with a great selection of wines. But what really sets The Giglio apart is the incredibly friendly staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make every stay pleasant and memorable.

I always stay at Hotel Perte at least twice a year. I spend new years eve here every single year. I've been staying at Hotel Perte since it opened. Another amazing thing is that the cleaning staff are very friendly and absolutely honest. I sometimes stay over a week and I never had to lock up my stuff in my absence, all valuables were completely safe

The City was quite, enjoyable my first day before check in I took my family to Carnival City they were so impressed the next took them to Gold Reef City it was so fun then later for evening meals to Mall of Africa 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽❤️❤️❤️💃💃💃🕺🕺🕺They enjoy the trip with Alcazaba hotel offering us fresh baths in between and easy access to and from our trips

A big Thank you to the reception staff. They are so friendly and assist a lot. A big Thank you to velile and van wyk for being professional and loving. They really made our stay the best. Assisting us with our bags from our car to our rooms-they are simply the best. Our mothers really enjoyed the warmth.

Johannesburg, or Jo'burg, has this unique energy; always alive, always moving, but with a deep history that makes you reflect. I’ve visited the Apartheid Museum, the Zoo, and Mandela House, and I left with a mix of emotions. The museum really hits hard, making you feel the weight of the past, while Mandela’s house gives you a sense of hope, like a reminder of how far the country has come. The Zoo was a nice break, a peaceful spot in the middle of the city, yet you still feel connected to the urban rhythm. What’s really interesting about Jo'burg is that, despite being a bustling city full of history, it’s also surprisingly green. There are lots of parks and green spaces like Zoo Lake and the Botanical Gardens, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the weather. The contrast between the busy city life and these calm, green areas really make the city stand out. Plus, places like Maboneng and Newtown are full of creative energy, with amazing food and a lively art scene. The weather is almost always sunny, and the people are super friendly, which makes Jo'burg feel warm and welcoming. What would be nice is that, with every visit, you find something new; whether it’s in the history, the art, or just the hidden green spots around the city

Joburg was fantastic & green.

Joburg was fantastic & green. Warm & it was a really good experience. People are super friendly & I would really recommend getting an Uber or guide for your stay. Mine was with me for my eight days & very grateful for his assistance 🙏

Fantastically located hotel in a wonderful environment surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. It felt very safe to wander around and had everything which we loved. The staff were brilliant, particularly Boipele, the lady in guest relations/concierge from the NTC Tours company, who sorted out all our 'demanding' travel arrangements. Breakfast was also great. Excellent choices and we especially appreciated the local South African breakfast. Great hotel.

The hotel had a great old world feel about it whilst being equipped to modern standards inside. So often hotels are cookie cutters and you lose the feeling of where you are - the Protea Hotel by Marriott Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton was true to its self and it's city. The staff were fabulous in every team and made us feel very welcome and looked after us like we were family! Food and drinks and chilled evenings in the hotel were all great!

The hotel was the best choice during my vacation in South Africa. The complex is beautiful, the rooms are nicely furnished with view of the garden and pool. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was lovely too. In addition, the staff was particularly nice and attentive. I should have stayed longer.

Where should I start. This is the best hotel I have stayed in South Africa! Very good breakfast with many options, across the street from a big mall, restaurants are walking distance down the street and the rooms are very clean and spacious. If I return I would get this hotel again without thinking twice!
