We enjoyed a lovely eight night stay at the Lazy Lion. Ella & Ricardo are the perfect hosts, very welcoming and friendly as were their staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a balcony and view over the lagoon. The pool area and gardens were fabulous. The breakfast was exceptional, offering freshly made buffet choices every morning, followed by a cooked option and was by far the best of our travels in SA. We will definitely return again next year and have already recommended it to friends.

Martin the host was always available when contacted. His housekeeper Vuvu was available in person and assisted when needed. She was very reliable and trustworthy. Our teenage daughter forgot her gadgets in her room and Vuvu called as immediately to inform us so we were able to turn around and get her things back. A big plus is that each of the bedrooms has their own ensuite, which makes it a great place to spend time as a big family.

Everything was great, nice view, very tasteful yet from traveller's point of view very functional interior design, very friendly and attentive personnel, delicious breakfast, wonderful 4pm tea and cake hour and more!

- super beds, slept very well - great view of the lagoon, even without getting out of bed - very friendly hosts - good restaurants within 1.5 km walking distance - offers itself as a center for excursions, the whole garden route can be explored from there without annoying hopping from hotel to hotel - great breakfast with interesting information inserts from the hostess - pool for sunbathing or burning in 2.5 meters reachable Have spent 12 nights here myself and will come back! We loved our stay at Moncrieff Manor. Kevin was a wonderful host and the hotel was great. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. There's a great view of the estuary as well. It's in a safe, convenient location with close access to the downtown area. Kevin gave us great recommendations of things to do in the surrounding area and even helped us get a booking for one activity that we couldn't sort on our own. I highly recommend Moncrieff Manor if you're planning to visit Knysna or the surrounding areas.
