The place was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent! Our kids enjoyed feeding the baby lambs and baby goats.

We had such a wonderful time at River Gardens Axedale Farmstay! Wendy and Mark are great hosts and it is such a lovely property and a great location right near Axedale and an easy 20-30 min drive to either Heathcote or Bendigo. We just loved all the animals wandering about and getting to hold, pat or feed them! All the dogs and cats are total sweethearts, and we were especially lucky there were lambs and baby goats when we were there - just adorable!

Beautiful location in axedale, home was easy to find and offered all we needed to relax and unwind. The kids loved checking out and feeding all the animals and staying on a farm. So glad we chose here over anything in bendigo, could easily have stayed longer. Nice touches to our stay included the firewood, games for the kids outside, seats by the dam, the fresh bread and breakfast supplies provided at no charge and the option of wine available for purchase. Beds were really comfy!

everything. very kid friendly, Wendy was great with our 2.5yo son and took him to feed the goats, sheep and let him bottle feed her lamb. the room was beautiful, clean and had everything you could think of and more. Wendy was very accommodating to dietary requirements and went above and beyond to decorate the room for a birthday and make an amazing cake. thank you so much, we will be back. beautiful property.

Wonderful farm experience for the children with very accommodating hosts

The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped with cooking utensils, TV, games, and reading material. The hosts also provided delicious breakfast ingredients. The views from the property were spectacular, and being able to feed the animals was a fun experience. My son and I had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Delicious bread, bacon and eggs supplied. The views were amazing and the kids loved the animals.

We loved every bit of our stay at River Gardens! Wendy and Mark were so warm and welcoming and they went out of their way to give us an amazing experience. They made us feel like family instead of strangers. Our daughter loved spending time with all the animals and the room and breakfast were exceptional. We didn't want to leave!

The overall experience was exceptional for us as a young family. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals, collecting eggs, checkup of sheep and the farm in general. Ken and Kaye have been very lovely hosts and were kind to show us how they managed animals and how they make their beautiful, low intervention wines. Love the small little nooks at the property where you can sit and relax with beautiful breeze and a glass of wine!
