Family hotels and homes in Engelberg

We have booked this place for 2 families quite spontaniously. Our stay was a pleasant experience from A-Z. I want to highlight the friendly messages before the stay, the welcome letter on the bed and the mirror, the play room for the kids, the breakfast with smilies on the eggs and the delicious croissants and the exquisite Sauna facility. The location right at the train station is a big plus too. We felt very comfortable and home at Sonnenwendehof. Oh and that I do not forget to mention: The late check out was a real treat. Thanks for this.

Amazing staff, comfortable and spacious room for a family with a small child. Free coffee, free tea, and welcome drinks, plus you can get as much free water as you need. The concept of a shared kitchen is great and interesting, adding a unique touch to the stay. The hotel is in a great location, close to the most important activities, and the bus station is just a minute away. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

It was super family friendly, all details well thought of. The gentleman at the reception is lovely and helpful. Kitchen is well prepared.

The place is spotless clean, feels very relaxed and homely. There is also a very caring and helpful management team. the idea to offer guests a possibility of preparing their own meals during the stay is great. It gives one flexibility, and significantly reduces the price, especially if you have a smaller budget , do not want to dine out every night or are a family with children. The kitchen is equipped with everything one may need to.prepare a full dinner, even if you want to bake a cake 😄

Good family hotel, good location, warm and comfortable. My only draw back was hard mattresses, which effected my sleep. No mattress toppers available. We also were not able to make a reservation in the hotel restaurant during the evening, so I recommend you book in advance of your stay. There is a good asian restaurant and steakhouse close by however. The spa is lovely, nice pool and good sauna. And the breakfast is decent for families too.
